About The Role

AA Euro Recruitment UK seeks an experienced Site Manager for a large-scale refurbishment project in Coventry. This full-time contract runs seven to nine months, starting the first week of September, with a competitive CIS rate of £350–£400 per day. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, coordinating subcontractors, trades and operatives to ensure delivery on programme and to specification. Key duties include supervising site activities, maintaining quality standards and upholding strict health and safety compliance. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside a proven track record managing refurbishment schemes for a main contractor. The position demands someone capable of driving efficiency while meeting client expectations throughout the build.

AA Euro Group are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established Main Contractor delivering a large-scale refurbishment works around the Coventry area.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards.

This is a 7–9 month contract opportunity, offering a competitive CIS rate of £350–£400 per day, with an anticipated start during the first week of September.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day site activities across the refurbishment project.
  • Supervise subcontractors, trades and site operatives, ensuring works are completed in accordance with the programme and specification.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager, design team and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress against programme and proactively address any delays or issues.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation, RAMS and company procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries, materials and access requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure works meet the required standards.
  • Review and coordinate subcontractor works and ensure interfaces between trades are effectively managed.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress updates and site documentation.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues efficiently and escalate where appropriate.
  • Assist with short-term programming and sequencing of works.
  • Maintain strong communication with the client, consultants, subcontractors and wider project team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a Main Contractor.
  • Strong background in large-scale refurbishment projects.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades on live construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, programme management and site logistics.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and construction legislation.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction programmes.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of site delivery.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS qualification/card appropriate to the role.
  • First Aid qualification is desirable.
  • Previous experience working on projects of a similar scale and complexity.
