About This Role

This Site Manager position offers an outstanding opportunity to lead operational delivery across civil engineering and water infrastructure projects in Staffordshire. You will take full site management responsibility for delivering schemes safely, to specification, and on schedule while maximizing commercial performance.

  • Lead multidisciplinary site teams, engineers, foremen, direct labour, and subcontractors to deliver complex civil schemes safely.
  • Manage construction programs, 2-week look-aheads, project plans, RAMS, ITPs, and material procurement schedules.
  • Monitor project cost plans, maintain detailed site diaries, and execute value engineering opportunities to drive commercial performance.
  • Act as the primary client interface on site, holding weekly progress meetings and delivering accurate monthly reporting.

About You

You are an experienced Site Manager or Site Agent with a strong operational background in heavy civil engineering, deep drainage, or water sector infrastructure. You possess strong direct labour leadership, technical problem-solving ability, and sound commercial awareness under regulated framework contracts.

  • Hold a recognized Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • Demonstrate essential experience working as a Site Manager/Agent for a contractor within heavy civils or deep drainage.
  • Hold essential credentials: CSCS Card (Black or Gold), SMSTS (or IOSH Managing Safely), TWC, and Confined Space training.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of CDM regulations, contract conditions, cost control, forecasting, and testing specifications.
  • Show proven ability to manage direct labour and subcontractors, challenge site designs, and drive safety-first site cultures.
