Site Manager (Electrical Engineering) | Energy Sector

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong Electrical Engineering background to lead the safe and successful delivery of protection, control, automation and electrical installation projects across the UK energy sector.
The Opportunity
As Site Manager, you'll take ownership of site-based delivery activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within specification and to the highest quality standards. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate subcontractors and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout installation and commissioning phases. This is a highly visible role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise and a proactive approach to safety and project delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing installation, commissioning and customer acceptance activities across transmission substations, large generation sites and industrial facilities
- Leading site teams including engineers, technicians and subcontractors
- Driving compliance with CDM Regulations and industry safety standards
- Chairing client meetings and providing regular progress updates
- Producing and reviewing construction and site management documentation, including RAMS, CPPs and SHE plans
- Conducting site surveys to support both tendering and project delivery activities
- Collaborating with Project Managers and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered to budget, quality and programme requirements
- Managing site drawings, quality documentation and installation test plans (ITPs)
- Coordinating welfare arrangements, tools, equipment and site resources
- Monitoring site performance and competency of personnel and contractors

What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on electrical engineering projects
- Strong understanding of electrical installation practices and site operations
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and construction project management requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent
- BS7671 18th Edition qualification
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor training
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Asbestos Awareness Training
- Environmental and Waste Management knowledge
- National Grid Competent Person status
- Understanding of National Grid standards and procedures
- Experience working within transmission and substation environments
- Previous SR163 (TP137) Site Manager authorisation
