A growing drylining contractor is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to oversee a project based in Northamptonshire. This role requires strong leadership, excellent site management skills, and a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction sector.

Job Duties

  • Plan, organise and control the daily operations on site, ensuring the project progresses according to schedule and budget.
  • Manage and supervise subcontractors and labour teams, ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the project.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all site personnel.
  • Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials, equipment and resources needed for drylining and associated tasks.
  • Maintain clear and accurate site records including daily reports, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolve any site issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential risks, defects or delays and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant building regulations, company standards and contractual requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate.
  • Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry, preferably within drylining or related trades.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing medium to large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience in enforcing health and safety legislation on site and managing risk assessments.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of drylining techniques and materials.
  • Strong site management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Sound understanding of construction health and safety regulations and best practises.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Competence in maintaining accurate site documentation and using project management tools.
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt to changing circumstances on site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
  • Experience with digital site management software.

Working Conditions

  • The role requires full-time hours on site, with occasional overtime depending on project demands.
  • Work is predominantly outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Site environment requires adherence to personal protective equipment and safety protocols at all times.
  • Travel to and from the site in Northamptonshire is necessary; a driving licence is essential.
