Site Manager
Location: Preston
Salary: Up to £47,000 DOE
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a national property maintenance and refurbishment provider, for an experienced Site Manager to join their team in Preston. This is a hands-on management role overseeing the day-to-day delivery of responsive repairs and maintenance. You will be responsible for managing operatives and subcontractors, monitoring performance and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social housing or property maintenance, excellent technical knowledge across multiple trades and the ability to lead a mobile workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise operatives and subcontractors delivering responsive repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure all works are completed on time, within budget and to the required specification.
- Monitor productivity, performance and quality through regular site visits and inspections.
- Review completed works, job coding and variations to ensure accuracy and value for money.
- Liaise with planners, administrators and client teams to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments and site inspections.
- Support resource planning and the coordination of out-of-hours services where required.
- Maintain positive working relationships with residents, clients and colleagues.
- Mentor apprentices and support the development of team members.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Manager or Supervisor within social housing or property maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge across multiple trades.
- Experience managing teams and monitoring performance against targets.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety, RAMS and compliance procedures.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and mobile work management systems.
- CSCS card, with SSSTS, SMSTS and/or IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
