Site Managers play a critical role in keeping construction and infrastructure projects moving smoothly from day one through completion. About The Opportunity
Roles of this type sit at the operational heart of construction and civil engineering projects across the North West. You could be managing a live site in Manchester, Greater Manchester, overseeing day-to-day delivery, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining safety standards, and liaising with project managers, clients and stakeholders to keep work moving forward. The role could involve working across varied project types and scales, with scope to manage multiple workstreams, solve practical problems on the ground, and maintain the standards that keep sites running safely and efficiently.
What You Would Do
Typical responsibilities could include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations, including coordination of labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors
- Ensuring all site work complies with Health and Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and company safety policies
- Conducting toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings
- Monitoring site progress against programme and budget
- Quality control and inspection of work to specification and standards
- Liaising with project managers, clients, architects and other stakeholders
- Maintaining site records, documentation, risk registers and incident reporting
- Managing site welfare facilities and environmental compliance
- Problem-solving and decision-making to keep work on schedule

What You Could Bring
Most roles of this type require the following:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification or equivalent
- Proven experience managing construction sites or similar projects
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, CDM and best practice
- Ability to coordinate teams, manage time effectively and prioritise workstreams
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with site documentation, programme management and basic IT systems
- Familiarity with construction methodologies, sequencing and logistics
- First Aid certification is advantageous
- Driving licence and ability to travel to site
