Our client is a specialist fire stopping and fire remediation company delivering high-quality passive fire protection solutions that help protect people, property, and premises. Our work includes fire stopping systems, remedial works, and installation/maintenance of fire doors—always with a focus on compliance, workmanship, and safety.

Role Summary

They are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead and coordinate site activities for projects based around Harlow. You will manage day-to-day delivery, oversee subcontractors and site teams, and ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and to the required specifications and standards—including fire doors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end site delivery across fire stopping, fire remediation, and fire door works
  • Plan daily/weekly site activities, coordinate resources, and manage site logistics
  • Ensure works are compliant with project documentation/specifications and relevant standards
  • Supervise site teams and subcontractors to achieve quality and programme targets
  • Maintain accurate records (e.g., QA/QC checks, site logs, snag lists, photos, reports)
  • Support strong Health & Safety practices in line with internal procedures and site requirements
  • Ensure correct installation of systems and that the correct components are used (including fire door hardware/ironmongery where applicable)
  • Communicate with clients, main contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Review method statements, risk assessments, and ensure required permits/checks are in place
  • Ensure evidence is captured for handover, including QA documentation and work completion records

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager (or similar) in construction/fire protection or maintenance/remediation environments
  • Experience with fire stopping and/or fire remediation (essential)
  • Experience with fire doors (installation/upgrade/maintenance) is essential
  • Ability to read drawings/specifications and ensure correct installation
  • SMSTS/SSSTS preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • CSCS card (where required) and relevant H&S training (preferred)
  • Full driving licence preferred/required depending on your routes to site
