Site Manager – Utility-Scale Solar
Location: West Kent
Salary: £60,000–£65,000
Employment Type: Permanent
We are recruiting an experienced Site Manager to support the construction of a major utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV development in West Kent.
The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractors and construction teams while maintaining high standards across safety, quality and programme delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day construction activities
- Manage subcontractors and site supervisors
- Coordinate labour, materials and site resources
- Monitor progress against the construction programme
- Maintain strong HSE and quality standards
- Review works against drawings and specifications
- Manage site inspections, defects and corrective actions
- Coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical work packages
- Produce accurate site and progress reports
- Support commissioning and final handover

Essential experience
- Demonstrable recent utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV experience
- Previous Site Manager experience within solar, renewables or major infrastructure
- Strong construction and subcontractor management capability
- Civil, Electrical or Mechanical construction / engineering background
- Strong communication and site leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence

Qualifications / certifications
- SMSTS
- Black CSCS or Black ECS Card
- 3-day First Aid
- NVQ Level 6+ in Construction Management or relevant engineering discipline preferred
Candidates actively working towards NVQ Level 6 / Black Card may also be considered where they can demonstrate strong relevant project experience.
TWC / Temporary Works Coordinator experience would be advantageous.
