Site Manager
Location: Site-Based (Leeds HQ)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

RTS Infrastructure is a trusted provider of rail infrastructure, construction and depot services across the UK. Based in Leeds, we work with major rail industry clients, delivering projects that keep the UK's rail network moving. Following our acquisition by Arriva Group, we're entering an exciting new chapter of growth, investment and opportunity as part of one of Europe's leading passenger transport organisations.
We're looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our growing project delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on construction professional to oversee the safe and successful delivery of rail and infrastructure projects across our portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan, organise and manage site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
- Understand project scope, objectives and delivery requirements.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers to agree timescales, resources and delivery plans.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to support successful project delivery.
- Supervise and direct site teams, ensuring work is completed to the required standards.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards and client requirements.
- Provide practical construction input and feedback to support project delivery and buildability.
- Undertake the role of Person in Charge (PIC) where required.
- Produce or support the production of essential HSQE documentation including Construction Phase Plans, Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, Permits and Safe Systems of Work.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, delays and site issues in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company and client document control processes.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
- Capture, manage and record variations to scope and support commercial recovery activities.
- Support project completion activities, including as-built records, handover documentation and operational manuals.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience managing worksites within rail, infrastructure or construction environments.
- Relevant HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of site management, construction methodologies and project delivery.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour teams.
- Knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements within a construction environment.
- Ability to work independently and make effective decisions on site.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver against programme deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
- Willingness to lead by example and promote high standards across the workforce.
