Site Managers (M&E) & Site Managers (PC Rep) — Substation & Power Infrastructure Projects

Location: Multiple UK Sites — Immediate Live Vacancy: Caithness / Highlands Region
Positions: Contract Roles Available
Daily Rates: £400 – £550 per day (LTD / Umbrella / PAYE — dependent on-site scope, qualifications, and deployment terms)
Working Pattern: Standard 50-hour weeks (10 hours per day, Monday–Friday)
Contract Status: Outside IR35

The Opportunity

DCS Engineering is recruiting experienced Site Managers (Mechanical & Electrical) and Site Managers (PC Rep / General) to lead site teams on major high-voltage transmission, substation, and power infrastructure construction projects across the UK.

IMMEDIATE LIVE REQUIREMENT: We have an urgent long-term role (70+ weeks) starting immediately in Highlands / North of Scotland:

  • Scope: M&E background with an Electrical qualification, Temporary Works, SMSTS, and CSCS.

We are also hiring for several upcoming major infrastructure projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate supervisors, sub-contractors, and work teams on behalf of the Senior Site Manager / Project Manager.
  • Drive site work ensuring project milestones are met to Time, Quality, and QEHS standards.
  • Enforce site Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality plans.
  • Manage multi-party work teams to ensure safe and efficient progress across complex substation environments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Background & Qualifications:

  • Education / Experience: Apprentice-trained / NVQ Level 3 with 3+ years' supervisor/management experience, OR Degree-qualified with 2+ years' supervisor experience on ESI (Electricity Supply Industry) or heavy industrial construction sites (Substations, Power Generation, Oil & Gas).

Core Safety & Management Certifications:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • CSCS Card / CCNSG Safety Passport
  • IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH
  • Temporary Works coordinator/supervisor experience
  • Manual Handling, Working at Height, Fire Safety Awareness, First Aid

High-Demand Client / Site Tickets:

  • SSE / Scottish Power / National Grid Person (BESC)
  • National Grid Competent Person (NSI6 / NSI8)
  • Experience on SPEN or SSE transmission networks
