BESS Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced BESS Site Manager with a minimum of 3 years' experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy, power, or battery storage projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations for utility-scale BESS projects.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with HSE regulations, company procedures, and project requirements.
  • Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Monitor construction progress against the project schedule and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Coordinate civil, mechanical, and electrical works throughout project delivery.
  • Conduct daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
  • Review RAMS, permits to work, and site documentation.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, DNOs, ICPs, and consultants.
  • Manage site logistics, material deliveries, equipment, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure quality standards are met through inspections, testing, and commissioning support.
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and HSE documentation.
  • Support energisation, commissioning, and handover activities.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Site Manager on BESS, renewable energy, HV electrical, solar, substations, or power infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of battery energy storage systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
  • Knowledge of UK construction and health & safety regulations.
