BESS Site Manager
We are seeking an experienced BESS Site Manager with a minimum of 3 years' experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy, power, or battery storage projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations for utility-scale BESS projects.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with HSE regulations, company procedures, and project requirements.
- Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor construction progress against the project schedule and implement corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate civil, mechanical, and electrical works throughout project delivery.
- Conduct daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
- Review RAMS, permits to work, and site documentation.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, DNOs, ICPs, and consultants.
- Manage site logistics, material deliveries, equipment, and workforce planning.
- Ensure quality standards are met through inspections, testing, and commissioning support.
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and HSE documentation.
- Support energisation, commissioning, and handover activities.

- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Site Manager on BESS, renewable energy, HV electrical, solar, substations, or power infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of battery energy storage systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Knowledge of UK construction and health & safety regulations.
