Civils Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of work across highways, utilities, groundworks, reinforced concrete, drainage, and infrastructure schemes.

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through to completion
  • Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant, and materials
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
  • Prepare and implement site programmes and work schedules
  • Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
  • Monitor project progress and report to senior management
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities
  • Manage RAMS, permits, and project documentation
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve site issues efficiently
  • Ensure works are completed in line with specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, highways, utilities, RC structures, or heavy civils
  • Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of HSEQ standards and industry best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Essential Qualifications

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card (Management Level)
  • First Aid at Work
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Temporary Works Coordinator
  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Experience working on highways, utilities, rail, or infrastructure frameworks
