Site Manager within Energy Sector

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a proactive and driven Site Manager who will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of National Grid construction, maintenance, refurbishment, and infrastructure projects. The role ensures that all site activities are completed in accordance with National Grid standards, health and safety regulations, project specifications, and client requirements.

About the Role

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all site operations.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, company policies, and National Grid safety procedures.
  • Develop, review, and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Manage day-to-day site activities and supervise employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate site resources, materials, plant, and equipment.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with project programmes, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular project updates to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with National Grid specifications and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate site records, permits, inspection reports, and project documentation.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and waste management requirements.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience managing construction or maintenance projects within electricity transmission, substations, or utilities.
  • Impressed Voltage Awareness (or previously held)
  • NG Competent Person CP (or previously held)
  • TWS OR TWC
  • HSG47 Substations
  • Experience or Held the NG-ET-SR163.11 Delegation
  • Experience with NG Supplier Requirements & Technical Specifications (TS + SR)
  • Experience working on National Grid projects.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, HSE legislation, and safe systems of work.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • SMSTS qualification.
