Site Manager – BESS / Civils

Please make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.

Location: Indian Queens, Cornwall, PL26 8BY

Rate: £300 per shift

Duration: Approximately 6 months

Start: Monday 10 August 2026

Hours: Approximately 8:00am to 5:00pm

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, with regular Saturday working potentially required

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to support a major battery energy storage system project at Indian Queens Power Station.

The contractor already has a capable civils team in place to manage the physical construction works. The Site Manager will provide a professional management presence on site, maintain the required documentation and ensure the project is operating safely and efficiently.

This role would suit a Site Manager with a strong civils background who is comfortable managing site paperwork, ITPs, deliveries, permits and client communication.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and completing ITPs and associated quality documentation
  • Coordinating deliveries and site logistics
  • Maintaining daily site records, diaries and progress information
  • Managing permits to work and relevant site documentation
  • Monitoring health and safety standards
  • Liaising professionally with the client and project stakeholders
  • Supporting the existing civils team
  • Attending site meetings and providing progress updates
  • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
  • Maintaining a steady and well-organised site environment

Mandatory requirements

  • Valid SMSTS
  • Valid First Aid at Work
  • Appropriate CSCS Card
  • Strong civils construction experience
  • Previous experience managing ITPs and site documentation
  • Good knowledge of permits to work, RAMS and site health and safety
  • Able to commute reliably to Indian Queens Power Station
  • Available to start Monday 10 August
  • Available for the full six-month duration
  • Willing to work Saturdays when required

Previous experience working on BESS, solar farms, power stations, substations, utilities or renewable energy projects would be a significant advantage.

A Black CSCS Card would also be preferable.

This is a client-facing position, so applicants must be professional, organised, presentable and confident communicating with the principal contractor and wider project team.
