Civil Site Manager (Wastewater Treatment Works)
A leading principal contractor delivering major wastewater infrastructure projects across the South West is seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager to support the delivery of a significant Wastewater Treatment Works (WTW) scheme in Malmesbury, Near Swindon.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major AMP8 capital delivery programme, overseeing complex civil engineering works within a live operational wastewater treatment environment. The role offers long-term security through a rolling contract arrangement and the chance to play a key role in delivering critical water infrastructure improvements.
The Role
As Civil Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of civil works associated with the construction and refurbishment of wastewater treatment assets. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations on a major WTW upgrade project.
- Coordinating subcontractors, direct labour, suppliers and plant resources.
- Driving excellent standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality management.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with programme milestones, specifications and project objectives.
- Managing RAMS, permits to work, site records and progress reporting.
- Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, commercial teams and client representatives.
- Overseeing civil engineering activities including reinforced concrete structures, earthworks, drainage, pipework and associated infrastructure.
- Identifying and managing project risks whilst implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
- Supporting commissioning and handover activities where required.
- Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships within a live treatment works environment.

What We're Looking For
To be considered, you should have:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering civil engineering works within the UK water sector.
- Previous experience working on Wastewater Treatment Works (WTW) projects.
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, civil structures, pipework and infrastructure delivery.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Thorough understanding of CDM Regulations and construction health & safety requirements.
- Ability to manage programme, cost, quality and safety objectives simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Competence using Microsoft Office and digital site reporting systems.

- CSCS Black Card
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- National Water Hygiene Card (Blue Card)
Desirable
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
- EUSR Registration
- Confined Space Training
- Appointed Person (Lifting Operations)
- Experience working on AMP7 or AMP8 water frameworks
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
