Job Description

Summary

As a Site Manager, you will lead the on-site delivery of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects in the UK. You’ll be responsible for daily site operations, contractor coordination, safety compliance, and overall progress to ensure successful project execution. You will act as INTEC’s representative on site and will be key in maintaining schedule, quality, and safety performance.

  • Manage daily on-site activities to ensure safe and timely execution of solar PV and BESS projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and logistics to meet construction milestones.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (HSEQ).
  • Maintain site diaries, progress reports, and quality inspection records.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks, inductions, and HSE checks.
  • Liaise with the project management, engineering, and procurement teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Monitor contractor performance and escalate issues that could impact timelines or compliance.
  • Support commissioning and testing activities alongside electrical and engineering teams.
  • Maintain communication with local stakeholders, DNOs, and landowners as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to CDM regulations and UK construction legislation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5+ years) managing on-site construction of utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects.
  • In-depth understanding of civil and electrical works for solar farms, substations, or BESS.
  • SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid certification required.
  • Knowledge of UK HSE regulations, CDM, and construction best practices.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors and subcontractors under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project reporting tools, and document management systems.
  • Full UK driving license and right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to be site-based, with possible travel to other locations.
  • A passion for sustainability and environmental solutions.
