Hays are working with a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor to recruit a Site Manager for a major water treatment upgrade programme in Mid-Wales.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-term investment project that will improve water treatment and supply resilience for local communities. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing site operations, driving programme delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will lead day-to-day construction activities across a complex water treatment and infrastructure upgrade project. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

- Managing site operations from mobilisation through to completion
- Leading and coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
- Ensuring all works are delivered in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Monitoring progress against the programme and addressing any issues proactively
- Maintaining quality standards and supporting inspection and testing activities
- Managing site records, permits, and reporting requirements
- Supporting project planning, logistics, and resource management
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams and key stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the water sector
- Experience delivering treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, or other process infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety legislation
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts and drive programme performance
- Full UK driving licence
