Join us as a Site Manager (9 Month FTC)

wienerberger Ltd manufactures and provides wall, roof and landscaping products for the construction sector. We offer innovative and sustainable solutions across the whole building envelope for new build, renovation projects and across the building industry.

About the Role

As a Site Manager you will be the trusted lead on site at our Denton factory, overseeing the safe and effective delivery of the factory upgrade construction program, which includes our green hydrogen fuel switch project.

Acting as our site representative, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and contractor coordination across multiple CDM areas. You’ll work closely with project teams, contractors and designers to ensure the planned activities are carried out to plan and budget whilst maintaining strong health and safety standards.

This is a 9 months, salaried, fixed term contract opportunity.

Duties Include:

  • Ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and site health and safety requirements
  • Implementing and monitoring the construction phase plan and safe systems of work
  • Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating subcontractors and trades
  • Monitoring progress against programme and taking action where required
  • Maintaining accurate site records including inspections, permits and safety documentation
  • Leading site meetings, toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Ensuring all works meet required quality standards and specifications
  • Planning and allocating labour, materials and equipment to maintain productivity

This role is based at our Denton site, within easy reach of Manchester, Stockport, Oldham, and surrounding towns, with straightforward road access and nearby transport links.

Working hours: Full time site-based role, Monday to Friday. 8am to 5pm

About You

Essential

  • Good experience managing construction sites and subcontractors
  • Experience managing contractors in a live manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and construction health and safety legislation
  • SMSTS certification and valid CSCS manager card
  • Experience reviewing and implementing RAMS and permit to work
  • Good communication skills with the ability to lead and influence contractors on site
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to challenge poor performances and unsafe practices in a professional manner

Desirable

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Temporary works coordinator or supervisor certification
  • Previous experience as Principal Designer or Principal Contractor on projects
