The Governors and Head Teacher of Grove Vale Primary School wish to appoint a dedicated, proactive, and highly reliable Site Manager to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in site management, maintenance, or facilities management who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive school community.
Role Overview
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the school site. You will oversee the efficient operation of the premises, ensuring that buildings and grounds are safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the security of the school site, including locking and unlocking premises and operating alarms and CCTV systems.
- Carrying out routine inspections and identifying maintenance requirements.
- Coordinating and monitoring contractors and external service providers.
- Supervising cleaning staff and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.
- Supporting health and safety compliance and maintaining appropriate records.
- Managing minor repairs and site improvement projects.
- Monitoring utilities and promoting efficient use of energy across the site.
- Working closely with school leaders to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the school environment.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least three years' experience in a site management, maintenance, caretaking, or similar role.
- Has experience of supervising or monitoring staff.
- Possesses practical maintenance and DIY skills.
- Has a good understanding of health and safety requirements, including COSHH and fire safety.
- Can communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and external agencies.
- Is dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Is flexible and able to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
- Relevant training such as COSHH, IOSH, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, and Fire Safety would be advantageous.

- Grade: Grade D, SCP 9-17, £28,153 - £32,046 (Actual salary, £19,022 - £21,652 p.a.)
