Mears Group is one of the UK’s leading providers of housing and care services. We deliver essential maintenance, regeneration, and retrofit services to homes and communities across the country. Our teams work in partnership with local authorities and housing providers to improve energy efficiency, safety, and living standards for residents.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of planned works projects from inception through to completion. Working across a range of internal and external refurbishment programmes, you will lead site teams and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proactive approach to health and safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, while maintaining a positive experience for clients and residents throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties:

  • Manage site teams, operatives, and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and on programme.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
  • Oversee internal and external planned works, including roofing, windows, doors, insulation, heating, and refurbishment projects.
  • Ensure all works comply with building regulations, specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Manage health and safety on site, including risk assessments, method statements, scaffolding, and working-at-height activities.
  • Monitor project performance against budgets, timescales, and KPI targets.
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, compliance documentation, and change controls.
  • Liaise with clients, residents, consultants, and internal stakeholders to provide updates and minimise disruption.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with CDM regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Lead, support, and develop site-based teams while promoting continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Attend client meetings, progress reviews, and operational planning meetings as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
