CNX Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a major refurbishment project in Glasgow, working on behalf of a leading construction contractor delivering works within the public sector.

The successful candidate will take a lead role on site, overseeing the delivery of refurbishment and associated construction works while working closely with the project management and commercial teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Site Manager with a strong refurbishment background to secure a key role on a significant project working within a Scottish Government environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors, site teams and trades.
  • Manage the programme and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
  • Coordinate refurbishment and associated construction activities.
  • Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and wider project team.
  • Ensure all works are completed to the required quality and specification.
  • Manage site health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the project team.
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings.
  • Coordinate logistics, deliveries, materials and site resources.
  • Ensure all project documentation and site records are maintained accurately.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively to maintain programme and quality.

  • Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on refurbishment or similar construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and site management.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple workstreams.
  • Strong programme and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Relevant SMSTS and CSCS qualifications.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
  • Previous experience working on public sector or government-related projects would be advantageous.
