About The Role
Role: Site Manager
Contract: Permanent Opportunity
Division: Build
Location: Helensburgh, Scotland
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our Building Division delivering projects in Helensburgh. This is a key site-based leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with project teams, subcontractors, clients and supply chain partners, you will coordinate all aspects of site operations, including planning, scheduling, resource management and procurement. You will oversee site safety, monitor progress against programme, manage subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed in line with project and client requirements.
The successful candidate will be a proactive and organised construction professional with strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. You will be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service. Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must either hold Security Clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process.
The Site Manager Shall
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the construction process, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with other construction professionals such as architects, engineers, and sub-contractors.
- Ensure that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure that all required materials are ordered and delivered on time.
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and that all workers are properly trained.
- Manage and supervise the work of subcontractors and other workers involved in the process.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure that work is progressing according to schedule and quality standards.
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients as required.
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the construction team as needed.

Personal Specification
Essential
- Proven experience in a Site Manager role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site operations and health & safety requirements.
- Experience managing subcontractors, programmes and site resources to deliver projects on time and to budget.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS/CSR/SafePass Card and First Aid at Work certification.
- Security Cleared (or willing to undergo clearance), with a Full UK Driving Licence and ability to commute to the Helensburgh site.
Desirable Criteria
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience working on MoD, public sector or secure-environment projects.
- Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor or IOSH qualification.
- Experience delivering projects in live operational environments.
- Strong IT and project reporting skills.
