A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor on a prestigious £10 million new-build school project near Chippenham, Wiltshire.
This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a Site Manager looking to work on a high-profile education project with an established main contractor, with the potential for continued career opportunities following successful delivery of the scheme.
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Site Manager / Construction Manager with a strong background in main contracting and new-build construction. Experience delivering education, commercial, healthcare or other complex building projects would be highly advantageous.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site teams.
- Overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with programme requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Coordinating site logistics, materials and resources.
- Monitoring progress against the construction programme.
- Working closely with the Project Manager and wider site management team.
- Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
- Attending and contributing to site meetings and progress meetings.
- Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress.
- Ensuring quality standards are consistently maintained throughout the project.
- Identifying and resolving site issues efficiently.
- Supporting the successful handover and completion of the project.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor environment.
- Experience managing new-build construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, health & safety and quality management.
- A proven track record of managing subcontractors and site teams.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively under programme and commercial pressures.
- A strong understanding of construction programmes and project delivery.
- Relevant construction qualifications, ideally including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
