At Hopkins, our purpose is to always deliver high levels of customer service and industry knowledge. Our vision is to self-deliver our sustainable projects from design through the installation period and then to maintain the buildings, ensuring they operate to the original design principles. To achieve both, we have built a team of dedicated, innovative and creative people. Who never settle for second best.

In a nutshell

As we continue to grow our network and expand our team across the south of the UK. With hubs already in Hampshire, East Sussex and Thames Valley, we are looking to further our reach and continue to deliver great service and innovative projects to our growing client base.

About the Role

As a Mechanical-Biased Site Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of mechanical works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll coordinate site teams and subcontractors, oversee programme and quality, and work closely with the wider project team to keep works progressing smoothly through to completion.

Day to day

  • Supervision and Coordination: Oversee and coordinate mechanical installations on site, including heating, ventilation, domestic water, drainage and associated building services. Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, programme requirements and relevant standards.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate mechanical subcontractors and site teams, allocating work, monitoring progress and providing clear direction to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and inspect mechanical installations throughout the project, identifying and addressing any quality issues or deviations from drawings and specifications. Maintain high standards of workmanship through to testing, commissioning and handover.
  • Project Planning: Work closely with Project Managers, engineers and the wider project team to plan and sequence mechanical works, coordinate resources and monitor progress against the project programme.
  • Health & Safety: Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety across the site, ensuring mechanical activities are carried out in accordance with RAMS and company procedures. Support the management of site welfare, housekeeping and PPE requirements.
  • Technical Coordination: Review mechanical drawings and specifications, identify potential clashes or installation issues and work collaboratively with the project and design teams to resolve them.
  • Communication: Liaise professionally with the main contractor, client, subcontractors, suppliers and other trades to coordinate works, resolve site issues and maintain effective working relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
