Site Manager - Environment
Location
Durham / Northumbrian Water Region
We are looking for a Site Manager to join our team working on the Northumbrian Water Frameworks, delivering projects across clean and wastewater treatment sites.
This is a key operational role requiring flexibility, strong leadership, and attention to detail.
What You Will Be Doing
Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and controlling site activities to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality project delivery.
- Coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to align work with programme, specification, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil site installation schemes across water and wastewater treatment sites.
- Lead daily site operations to:
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) legislation.
- Meet contractual timescales and specifications.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.
- Ensure accurate documentation, including:
- Method Statements
- Risk Assessments
- Testing records
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and in-house teams to:
- Coordinate delivery and logistics.
- Monitor site costs, contribute to progress reports, and attend project meetings.
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
About You
To excel in this role, you’ll need prior experience in the water or sewage sector, ideally on active construction sites. You will also:

- Hold an industry-relevant ONC / City & Guilds / NVQ qualification.
- Have site-based experience in infrastructure / water-related projects.
- Hold one of the following certifications:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
- CITB 5-Day Site Safety Training
- Possess a relevant CSCS card.
- Have First Aid training and EUSR (Energised Electrical Safety Requirements) accreditation.
- Bring an organised, professional approach to work.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence relationships.
- Show great passion for quality, safety, and customer service.
