Freelance Site Manager – Cornwall

6 Week Contract | Starts Monday 10th August
£370-390 per day PAYE

A highly respected UK construction and property services contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join an ongoing education sector project in Cornwall, for a 6-week contract commencing Monday 10th August.

The business has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the education, healthcare, commercial, public sector and infrastructure markets. With a collaborative approach and a strong emphasis on safety, sustainability and quality, they continue to deliver complex schemes that leave a lasting positive impact on the communities they serve.

This role is based on a significant redevelopment project at a further education campus, delivering modern teaching and learning facilities designed to enhance the student experience. The project involves the construction and refurbishment of specialist educational spaces, requiring a proactive Site Manager capable of maintaining programme, quality and safety standards throughout the build.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating subcontractors on site.
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Monitoring workmanship to ensure the highest quality standards are achieved.
  • Promoting and enforcing health, safety and environmental policies across the site.
  • Undertaking regular site inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Liaising with the Project Manager regarding progress, programme and site activities.
  • Carrying out any additional duties as instructed by the Project Manager to support successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing construction projects at a Site Manager level.
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Card black card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Strong subcontractor management and communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation and site best practice.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of quality whilst working to programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading national contractor on a prestigious education project, offering a 6-week freelance assignment with an immediate start. Please note payment is on an umbrella PAYE basis.
