About The Role
A market leading construction business has an exciting new project in Andover, developing a brand new supermarket. We are seeking a Senior Site Manager to take full responsibility for the successful delivery of this new build retail development. This role demands a proactive individual with strong leadership capabilities and proven experience managing medium to large scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and control all site activities to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Manage and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and site operatives, maintaining effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement and uphold health and safety regulations and procedures, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Oversee site progress and prepare detailed reports for senior management and clients as required.
- Monitor resource allocation, including labour, materials and equipment, to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues promptly to maintain project momentum and prevent delays.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and contractual obligations throughout the project.
- Lead site meetings, coordinating with design teams, clients and statutory bodies to ensure alignment and address any challenges.
- Maintain accurate site records including daily logs, safety documentation, and quality control checks.

Essential Qualifications And Certifications
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Certificate
- Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card
- Current First Aid qualification
- Full driving licence, clean and valid
Education and Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within the construction industry, ideally with a focus on new build retail developments.
- Strong track record of managing projects from inception to completion in line with programme and budget.
- Relevant Construction-related Qualifications Or Equivalent Experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials and health and safety legislation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising effectively with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Competent in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent.
- Experience working on new build supermarkets such as Aldi or Lidl.
Working Conditions
- Full-time contract position based on site in Andover, Hampshire.
- Work primarily outdoors on an active construction site, subject to varying weather conditions.
- Occasional requirement to work extended hours or weekends to meet project deadlines.
- Compliance with all site safety protocols and personal protective equipment regulations is mandatory.
