Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving the energy efficiency, comfort, and sustainability of homes and communities. You will take responsibility for retrofit works on tenanted housing stock, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme, and to the required quality standards.

Client Details

Our client is one of the largest Tier 1 contractors in the UK with a heavy presence across the social housing sector. They deliver high-quality repairs, maintenance, refurbishment, and decarbonisation programmes, working in partnership with housing associations, local authorities, and communities across the UK.

Description

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of social housing retrofit and decarbonisation works.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and specialist trades.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely and in accordance with policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Manage programmes, productivity, and site resources to achieve project targets.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure works meet specification and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate works across occupied properties while minimizing disruption to residents.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, housing associations, local authorities, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, quality checks, and health & safety audits.

Profile

  • Proven experience managing construction or refurbishment projects on site.
  • Experience working within social housing maintenance.
  • Knowledge of retrofit and/or decarbonisation measures such as insulation, windows and doors, heating systems, ventilation, renewable technologies, and associated building works.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering against programmes.
  • Relevant construction qualifications, such as SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid.
  • Retrofit experience and relevant qualifications such as PAS 2035/2030 would be advantageous.
