About the Company
Design & Build main contractor - mixed used developments & multi storey car parks
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist contractor within the multi-storey car park sector. With an established reputation for designing and delivering contemporary parking facilities across the UK, our client is seeking an ambitious Site Manager to join their team on a project in Cheltenham.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their construction management career, with a clear pathway towards future Project Manager positions.
Responsibilities
Site Operations Management
- Manage daily construction activities and site operations.
- Produce daily work plans and coordinate site attendance requirements.
- Order plant, materials, and equipment as required.
- Arrange transport deliveries and manage site logistics and access arrangements.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.

Subcontractor Management & Quality Control
- Supervise subcontractors and coordinate site activities.
- Monitor and report on site progress.
- Identify and record non-conformances and project risks.
- Manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Carry out inspections and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Record and report quality issues where necessary.
Health & Safety Management
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are implemented and followed.
- Review, update, and maintain RAMS documentation.
- Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits.
- Monitor and improve on-site Health & Safety behaviours.
- Address findings from internal and external Health & Safety audits.
Qualifications
- SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid
- Strong health & safety focus
- Construction or engineering discipline

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements on UK construction sites.
- Knowledge of construction methods and project delivery.
- Relevant construction experience, ideally within heavy construction environments such as concrete, steel, or structural projects.
- Experience managing subcontractors and site operatives.
- A positive, self-motivated, and organised approach.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A flexible, productive, and proactive attitude.
- Ambition to progress within construction management.
