Site Manager London - Commercial Fit-Out
Rate: £400-£500 per day DOE
Payment: CIS or Ltd Company
Location: Islington, London
Start: September 2026
Duration: Until Summer 2027
A specialist fit-out contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of a complex £12m commercial fit-out project in Islington, London.
The project involves the refurbishment and conversion of an existing commercial building, including CAT A works, CAT B fit-out and extensive mechanical and electrical installations. The contractor is looking for a strong Site Manager with experience delivering fast-paced commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects in Central London.
The Role
The Site Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the works, working closely with the Project Manager, design team, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers. The successful candidate will need a strong understanding of the London construction market, including permits, delivery restrictions, access requirements, and complex site logistics. You must be comfortable managing multiple trades and driving progress on a technically challenging, fast-paced programme.

Applicants should either live locally or be able to commute reliably to Islington each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of the project
- Coordinating subcontractors, specialist contractors, and site teams
- Driving the construction programme and maintaining key dates
- Managing site logistics, deliveries, access, and permits
- Planning and coordinating works within a restricted London location
- Ensuring works are completed safely and to the required quality standards
- Managing short-term programmes, look-ahead schedules, and daily activities
- Coordinating with the Project Manager, design team, and M&E team
- Chairing subcontractor meetings and daily site briefings
- Monitoring workmanship and resolving site issues
- Completing site inspections, permits, and relevant documentation
- Supporting testing, commissioning, and handover
- Maintaining high health and safety standards throughout the project
Candidate Requirements

- Previous Site Manager experience on commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects
- Experience working on projects in Central London
- Strong knowledge of London logistics, delivery restrictions, and permit procedures
- Proven ability to manage and drive a fast-paced construction programme
- Strong subcontractor and trade management experience
- Experience coordinating technically detailed or heavily serviced projects
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical installations
- Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple work packages simultaneously
