Site Manager – Main Contractor
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established Main Contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across Luton and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a proven track record of managing projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working across a range of new build and refurbishment projects in sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, residential, and industrial, you will play a key role in ensuring successful project delivery while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations on site from commencement through to completion.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers.
- Monitor project programmes and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and the project management team.
- Conduct site meetings, toolbox talks, and regular progress reporting.
- Manage site documentation, inspections, and compliance requirements.
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays and costs.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager working for a Main Contractor.
- Experience delivering construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
