Site Manager - New Build & Refurbishment Homes
Location: Saffron Walden, Essex
Salary: £65,000 per annum + Package
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to join a growing construction team delivering a mix of new build residential developments and refurbishment projects in Saffron Walden.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Site Manager with a proven track record of managing residential construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations on new build housing and refurbishment projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage site documentation, reports, and progress updates.
- Resolve site issues quickly and effectively to minimise delays.
- Lead and motivate site teams to achieve project objectives.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within residential construction.
- Strong background delivering new build housing developments and refurbishment projects.
- SMSTS certified.
- CSCS Black or White Card.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and health & safety legislation.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain programme targets.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
