About the Role

You will be responsible for effectively motivating, supporting, and managing the site-based team to ensure that the required health, safety, and environmental performance standards are achieved. To effectively reach the programme and quality requirements. To promote the importance of customer relationships to the site-based team to include PAYE and sub-contracted staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating the project strategy and design.
  • Quality Checking and signing off works as it progresses, drywall partitions, ceilings, SFS, and finishes.
  • Ensure operatives are working and building to the latest drawings, details, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, health & safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager & Operations Team, prepare and negotiate timetables, cost estimates, budgets, and contracts. Review and revise in line with budget requirements.
  • Keeping records and reporting to the Senior management team within the company.
  • Monitor progress of the build programme to ensure construction methods and timescales are met and take corrective action to bring progress back in line with the programme.
  • Ordering plant, equipment, and materials, ensuring the most cost-efficient supplier is used.
  • Agree and manage the equipment, plant, staffing, and sub-contract requirements for the site.
  • An understanding of programme demands and labour to suit.
  • Supervising all activity on site responding to any delays.
  • Manage the recruitment and induction of labourers and sub-contractors in line with Company’s best practice guide.
  • Enforcing safety procedures, minimizing risk, and ensuring the use of PPE at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager in the construction industry.
  • Have a good understanding of drywall, ceilings & SFS.
  • The ability to multi-task and handle multiple construction projects, meet tight deadlines.
  • Understand construction methods, interpret contracts and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical mind for cost management, procuring materials, and disposal of construction waste.
  • Good knowledge of specialised industry software for cost estimating and planning.
  • Strong communication skills to lead a large diverse site team and the ability to explain drawings and technical documents.
