Site Manager – Utility-Scale Solar
Location: Dundee, Scotland
Salary: £60,000–£65,000
Employment Type: Permanent
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join the delivery team on a major utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV project in the Dundee area.
You will take responsibility for day-to-day site delivery, managing subcontractors, coordinating construction activity and ensuring the project progresses safely, efficiently and in line with programme and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily construction activity across the solar farm
- Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors and site resources
- Monitor programme, productivity and construction progress
- Ensure works are delivered safely and to specification
- Carry out site inspections and resolve delivery issues
- Coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical activities
- Maintain site documentation and progress reporting
- Manage defects and corrective works
- Support commissioning and project handover
- Work closely with the wider Project Management team

Essential experience
- Recent utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV experience
- Previous Site Manager experience on major construction projects
- Strong subcontractor management experience
- Good understanding of construction HSE and quality standards
- Civil, Electrical or Mechanical construction / engineering background
- Full UK driving licence

- SMSTS
- Black CSCS or Black ECS Card
- 3-day First Aid
- NVQ Level 6+ in Construction Management or a relevant engineering discipline preferred
Strong candidates actively progressing towards NVQ Level 6 / Black Card may also be considered.
TWC / Temporary Works Coordinator experience would be advantageous.
Candidates with experience across civils, roads, drainage, foundations, structures or enabling works on large solar farms are particularly of interest.
This is a permanent role, so candidates should be comfortable supporting future UK projects when required.
