Job description
Site Manager/Supervisor – Infrastructure Projects (Substation works)
Key Responsibilities
- Team & Site Management: Lead and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in project delivery.
- Health & Safety: Promote a strong safety culture, manage relevant safety documentation, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and site requirements.
- Project Oversight: Monitor construction, installation, and commissioning activities to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Technical Compliance: Ensure that all works follow approved drawings, project specifications, and agreed quality standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, prepare regular reports, and ensure all required documentation is kept up to date.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with project teams, clients, suppliers, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve issues, coordinate activities, and support positive working relationships.
- Technical Support: Provide relevant technical input, support commissioning activities, and assist with troubleshooting site issues when required.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: Proven experience in site-based infrastructure or construction projects, with a strong technical background in a relevant discipline.
- Supervisory Skills: Demonstrable experience in team supervision and site management.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation, with a good understanding of relevant systems, equipment, and site processes.
- Safety Certifications: Appropriate site safety training or management certification.
- Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.
- IT Skills: Proficiency with common reporting and documentation tools, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Driving Licence: A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites where required.
- Scottish Power Comp Person and SMSTS required.
