Role Description
The Site Manager – Waste Industry will oversee daily operations at a Seras UK facility in the Greater Cheshire West and Chester Area. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for managing waste reception, processing, and fuel production activities to meet performance, safety, and environmental targets. Key tasks include:

The Site Manager will work closely with logistics, maintenance, and commercial teams to optimise throughput, minimise downtime, and maintain quality standards for biomass fuel. The role also involves:
- Reporting on site performance
- Managing contractors
- Supporting audits
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives in line with company policies and industry best practice
Qualifications
- Experience managing operations in the waste, biomass, energy, or heavy industrial sector, with strong knowledge of site processes and workflows.
- Proven leadership skills, including team supervision, performance management, and fostering a positive safety culture.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with experience implementing safe systems of work and risk assessments.
- Operational planning and organisational skills, including shift coordination, resource allocation, and prioritisation of tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, external partners, contractors, and regulators.
- Competence in using IT systems for reporting, data analysis, and documentation (e.g., MS Office, site management systems).
- Relevant vocational or academic qualifications in engineering, environmental management, operations management, or a related field are beneficial.
- Experience with biomass or waste fuel quality control, logistics coordination, and cost-conscious site management is an advantage.
