Construction Management Engineer / Programme Manager (East of England)
Cadent is the UK’s largest Gas Distribution Company, operating 4 of the 8 UK Gas Distribution Networks (East of England, London, NorthWest, and West Midlands). Their service spans over 131,000 kilometres of pipes, supplying 11 million homes and businesses. Costain is the preferred bidder for the East of England Construction Management Organisation (CMO).
Key Responsibilities
Central to Costain’s role is the strategic planning and programme management of Cadent’s capital investment programme, with a focus on:
- Delivering improved regulatory performance
- Future-proofing the network for the benefit of Cadent’s customers
The role requires:
- Coordination of personnel, local delivery partners (LDPs), and site management
- Customer care officer oversight
- Supervision and technical support in delivering construction activities, including:
- Replacement, reinforcement, and diversions
- Maintenance of multiple occupancy buildings and reinstatement works
- Ensuring alignment with designers’ directions across the East of England network
- Maximising customer experience and meeting Costain’s commitments to Cadent
- Promoting and demonstrating high standards of safety and compliance
- Continuous improvement of operational practices
