About The Role
Job Title: Site Manager
Location: EET Fuels (Essar Oil UK) - Stanlow Oil Refinery, North West England
Altrad Services is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Site Manager to lead operations at our Stanlow Oil Refinery site in the North West of England. This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for operational delivery, commercial performance, and safety across a multidisciplinary industrial site.
The successful candidate will oversee mechanical, scaffolding, and insulation activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. You will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, delivering commercial value and strengthening client relationships.
This position is ideally suited to a candidate with a strong industrial background and a proven track record in managing complex, multi-discipline environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Take full ownership of on-site operations, ensuring efficient delivery of all works across mechanical, scaffolding, and insulation disciplines.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and specialist contractors to deliver safe, high-quality work.
- Plan, manage, and monitor site activities to ensure timely project delivery in line with client expectations.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Manage site budgets, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve commercial performance and deliver added value to the client.
- Ensure robust commercial governance, including change management and accurate reporting.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary site contact for the client, building strong relationships and ensuring excellent communication.
- Collaborate closely with internal business units to ensure smooth integration of services and resources.
- Drive continuous improvement and demonstrate tangible value through innovation and efficiency.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Lead a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Ensure all site activities meet regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.
- Champion safe systems of work and a proactive approach to risk management.
Team Leadership
- Provide strong leadership and direction to site teams, promoting accountability, development, and high performance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment across all site personnel.
Key Deliverables
- Proven experience managing industrial sites, ideally within mechanical, scaffolding, or insulation disciplines.
- Strong background in commercial management, including cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex work scopes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrable experience improving operational efficiency and driving commercial value.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards within an industrial setting.
- Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvements.
