Two Gates Primary School (ATLP)

Two Gates Primary School is seeking to appoint a reliable, practical and proactive Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and maintenance of our school site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will be organised, approachable and able to work independently, using their initiative to ensure the school premises are well maintained and operational.

About The Role

Working 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, the Site Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the school premises, ensuring that the buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the security, maintenance and general upkeep of the school site
  • Carrying out regular checks of the buildings, grounds and facilities and arranging or undertaking repairs as required
  • Identifying maintenance issues and ensuring they are addressed promptly
  • Managing and liaising with contractors and external service providers
  • Supporting health and safety requirements, including routine checks and record keeping
  • Ensuring the school site is secure and responding appropriately to any issues that arise
  • Managing deliveries and supporting contractors and visitors accessing the site
  • Undertaking general maintenance, repairs and practical tasks where appropriate
  • Ensuring the school grounds are clean, safe and well presented
  • Maintaining appropriate records relating to maintenance, health and safety and site compliance
  • Supporting the school with emergency situations and unforeseen maintenance issues
  • Working closely with the Headteacher and wider school team to ensure the premises meet the needs of the school community

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good practical, maintenance and DIY skills
  • Has experience of managing or maintaining a building, premises or site
  • Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise their workload effectively
  • Can work independently and use their initiative
  • Has a good understanding of health and safety and the importance of maintaining a safe environment
  • Is confident communicating with staff, contractors, visitors and external professionals
  • Takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment
  • Has a flexible and proactive approach to resolving day-to-day issues
  • Is approachable and committed to supporting the wider school community

Previous experience of working within a school or education setting would be desirable, although experience in another relevant premises, facilities or site management environment will also be considered.
