Site Performance Assessor
Location: Field-based (UK-wide site travel) with home/hybrid office working
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,000- £35,000 per annum, dependant on experience. Plus car allowance.
The Role
The Site Performance Auditor will visit both prospective and existing customer sites to assess current waste and environmental practices, using our proprietary audit tool to score performance and identify improvement opportunities. The role reports into the Head of Sector and works day to day alongside BDMs, Account Managers and Supply Chain colleagues — auditing prospect sites to support new business development, and existing customer sites to drive the continuous improvement that underpins long-term retention. The role also plays a central part in shaping how the audit tool itself develops, acting as its most frequent user and its most useful critic.
The Business
Recycling Lives Services is not a typical recycling company. Since 2008, the business has been structurally built around social value, employing people from disadvantaged backgrounds, partnering with the justice system to reduce reoffending, and delivering environmental excellence at scale. The social mission is not a layer added on top of commercial activity. It is the reason the business operates in the way it does.
As a certified B Corp (scoring 103.5 against a business median of 50.9), Recycling Lives Services generated £42.9m in social value in 2024, achieved a 61% reduction in CO2 emissions, and diverted 97% of waste from landfill. 15% of our team have been welcomed through our rehabilitation programmes, and only 6% of people we support reoffend — compared to a national average of over 25%.
We operate UK-wide across construction, manufacturing, retail, utilities and public sector markets, offering total waste management, WEEE recycling, and specialist hazardous waste services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
