Job Description: Premises Assistant
We are looking for a reliable, hard-working, and friendly Premises Assistant to provide flexible, outstanding customer care and caretaking for third-party use of the school’s facilities at weekends. If you take pride in problem-solving, hands-on work, and creating a positive environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Your Opportunity
We are looking for someone who will manage the weekend lettings for our buildings and grounds, carrying out minor repairs as well as managing site health & safety compliance checks.
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to adapt are considered essential skills.
- If you are passionate about premises and facilities, and you have a positive "can do" attitude, then this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Provide a flexible, responsive, and helpful lettings reception service to all third-party users of the school’s facilities, ensuring high standards of customer care at all times.
- Unlock the school site and relevant facilities and buildings required for third-party use.
- Have good awareness of Health and Safety.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities, promptly and accurately report any defects or hazards identified in the school premises and equipment.
- Be able to work to their own initiative.
- Be capable of carrying out basic maintenance and DIY tasks.
- Have good oral and written communication skills.
- Have knowledge of building maintenance works (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc.).
- Be keen to contribute positively to the life of a school.

The Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Salary: GLF Associate 2.1 FTE £24,751 Actual Salary: £7,689
- Contract: Part-time, permanent
- Hours: 13 hours a week to be worked 9am – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, term time only (39 weeks)
- Closing Date: 6th October 2026 at 9.30am
- Interview Date: TBC
