Site / Project Engineer

Location: Gloucester (Hybrid) + UK-wide travel

Salary: Competitive Salary + Site Bonuses + Company Vehicle + Benefits

ARCA Consulting is supporting a specialist engineering and operations business in Gloucester operating within the UK energy and infrastructure sector to appoint a Site / Project Engineer.

This opportunity is open to individuals with experience working on live construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects. Candidates with experience in transmission and distribution, construction, utilities, renewable energy, or other project-based engineering environments are encouraged to apply.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will support the delivery of high-voltage infrastructure and renewable energy projects from development through to construction and close-out, with particular emphasis on:

  • Supporting the coordination of surveys across substations, overhead line routes, and cable corridors
  • Producing and updating CAD drawings for design and construction activities
  • Assisting with technical documentation, including method statements and construction phase plans
  • Supporting project planning, programme tracking, and progress reporting
  • Coordinating site logistics, deliveries, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Supporting site supervision and delivery on live projects
  • Liaising with clients, site teams, engineers, and delivery partners
  • Supporting risk assessments, HAZIDs, and SHEQ requirements
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements

About You

  • Experience working on live construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience in an engineering, site, supervisory, or project delivery capacity
  • Practical understanding of site-based project delivery
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or relevant CAD software
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Awareness of health and safety requirements, including CDM
  • Proactive, practical, and detail-oriented
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK

Experience within National Grid, DNOs, transmission and distribution, substations, overhead lines, cables, grid connections, or renewable energy would be advantageous, although not essential.
