Job Title: QA / QC Engineer Experienced in the Nuclear

Our Client, Boccard, a global industrial turnkey constructor specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of innovative industrial plants, is currently looking for a QA / QC Engineer experienced in the Nuclear for a 6 months contract to start with the possibility to be extended / become a permanent employee near Bridgewater, Somerset (TA7 0AJ)

Responsibilities

• Inspections: The QA/ QC Engineer is responsible for carrying out inspections in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
• Quality and Safety Oversight: They will oversee the quality and safety of the companies welding and fabrication activities, including dimensional inspection.
• Weld Assessment: Responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking weld specifications, and ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to.
• Quality Team Support: Part of the Quality team carrying out inspections and surveillance.
• Site Manager Assistance: Assist Site Managers in their Quality requirements.
• Quality Plan Implementation: Ensure that the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan is written in-line with the project requirements and is being effectively implemented and shared with relevant managers.
• Compliance Inspections: Liaise with all sub-contractors and treatment works to carry out random inspections of these sites to ensure compliance to the required specifications as set out by contract and purchase orders.
• Material Inspection: Complete inspections to ensure material at goods inwards meet the required standards.
• Workmanship Standard: Ensure a good standard of workmanship is maintained throughout the contract.
• Documentation Management: Ensure reports from visits to suppliers and sub-contractors to in-house inspections are produced and recorded with contract documentation.
• Subcontractor Management: Management of subcontractors.
• Documentation Review: Review of all documentation, LTRs & final certification packages are in accordance with contract requirements.
• Calibration and Test Equipment: Review calibration and test equipment are in full compliance with company & contract requirements.
• Weld Procedures Compliance: Ensure weld procedures comply with relevant code & contract requirements.
• Non-conformance Analysis: Analyse non-conformance reports.
• Documentation Final Review: Final review of all fabrication and assembly documentation before submission to the client.
• Supplier Management: Maintain the approved suppliers listing and requesting any documentation that may have expired.
• Liaison: Liaising with Suppliers, Subcontractors, clients etc and attend meetings where appropriate.
• Document Issuance: Issue of any Quality Documents required by client to Document Control for approval/review.
• Documentation Coordination: Liaise with sub-contractor and ensure all documentation runs concurrently with the project requirements.
• Client Liaison: Liase with client representatives relating to QA/ QC operation.
• SQEP File Management: Collect and keep up to date SQEP Files for HPSL Personnel - issue to client if required by Contract/Client.
• Additional Duties: To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the role.
