Job Overview
Position Summary
The Site Quality Intern will support the Site Quality Manager and project teams in ensuring quality standards are maintained across renewable energy construction projects, with a focus on solar tracker systems. This internship provides hands-on exposure to field quality processes, including inspections, audits, punch list management, documentation, and reporting. The intern will gain practical experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud and other field technology tools while learning quality assurance best practices within the solar construction industry.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Solar Tracker Audits and Inspections
- Assist with on-site audits and inspections of solar tracker systems to help verify compliance with project quality standards and specifications.
- Support the documentation of installation observations, deficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Learn to identify common quality issues associated with solar tracker installations under the guidance of experienced team members.
Punch List Support
- Assist in creating and updating punch lists using Autodesk Construction Cloud and iPad-based applications.
- Track open quality items and help monitor progress toward resolution.
- Coordinate with site personnel to ensure punch list information remains current and accurate.
Data Collection and Reporting
- Collect field data related to solar tracker installation and quality performance.
- Assist with organizing and analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support the preparation of reports, summaries, and project documentation.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with Site Quality personnel and project teams to support quality initiatives.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate quality observations effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote continuous improvement efforts.
Documentation and Record Keeping
- Maintain organized records of inspections, punch lists, reports, and related quality documentation.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and readily accessible.
- Support administrative quality control functions as required.

Safety Compliance
- Follow all company and project safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in site safety meetings and training activities.
- Immediately report any observed safety concerns or incidents to project leadership.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Engineering Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Previous internship, coursework, field experience, or exposure to construction, renewable energy, or quality processes is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Interest in renewable energy, solar construction, and quality assurance processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.
- Ability to work in an outdoor construction environment and perform site walks on uneven terrain.
Physical Requirements
- Must comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots).
- Must pass a physical exam if required.
- Able to:
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels, excavations).
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (Use assistance for heavier loads).
- Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).
- Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE when required.
