Site Reliability / Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on Site Reliability / Infrastructure Engineer to join a highly technical engineering environment, working on complex, production-critical systems supporting UK Government projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Building, deploying and maintaining highly reliable production systems.
  • Working extensively with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Developing and improving infrastructure tooling and automation.
  • Writing production-quality code using Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and distributed systems issues.
  • Improving reliability, scalability, monitoring, and operational performance.
  • Working closely with software engineers and technical teams to deliver secure production systems.
  • Contributing to Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD processes.

What we're looking for

  • 1–5 years' experience within Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a similar position.
  • Demonstrable experience building and deploying production systems – candidates with purely support/debugging backgrounds will not be suitable.
  • Strong hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience.
  • Programming experience with at least one of Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a highly ranked university.
  • Experience working within complex, technically demanding production environments.
  • Exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Infrastructure-as-Code, and/or CI/CD would be advantageous.
  • Background within defence technology, cloud infrastructure, large-scale technology, or similarly complex engineering environments would be beneficial.
  • Based within 30 minutes of the London site, or willing to relocate.
