We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability, scalability and operational performance of cloud-based services. You will combine software engineering skills with strong knowledge of GCP, Linux, networking and containerised platforms.

Location: Manchester, UK
Basis: 12-month fixed term contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer and improve reliable, scalable cloud services on GCP.
  • Use coding and automation to reduce manual operational effort.
  • Support and troubleshoot Linux and Unix-based systems.
  • Diagnose issues across applications, infrastructure and networking layers.
  • Operate and improve containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to reliability-focused engineering and operational practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve incidents and prevent recurrence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong coding and automation capability.
  • Hands-on cloud computing experience, particularly GCP.
  • Strong Linux or Unix systems knowledge.
  • Good understanding of networking protocols.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • A practical, reliability-focused approach to technical problem-solving.
