Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Leeds

Location: Leeds (Hybrid)
Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 + Benefits

About Our Client

Our client is a technology organisation operating high-availability digital platforms for enterprise customers. Continued growth and increasing platform scale have created an opportunity for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer.

The Role

You will work across software engineering and infrastructure to improve the reliability, scalability and observability of production systems. The role combines automation, cloud engineering and operational problem-solving with a strong focus on reducing manual intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve reliability, availability and performance of production services.
  • Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs and operational service metrics.
  • Build automation to reduce repetitive operational work.
  • Improve observability across logs, metrics, tracing and alerting.
  • Participate in incident response and blameless post-incident reviews.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve application resilience.
  • Support capacity planning, performance testing and disaster recovery.
  • Develop infrastructure and operational tooling using code.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering.
  • Strong Linux, networking and production troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Scripting or software development experience in Python, Go or similar.
  • Understanding of SRE principles, incident management and distributed systems.
