The Role
As an Senior GCP SRE Engineer you will be responsible to recruit to be part of our Public Cloud Platform and help achieve our mission to provide compliant and efficient Google Cloud Infra, product and DevOps capabilities for the Group and drive innovation to enable customers to have rapid and seamless Google Cloud Adoption and build their business journeys more scalable, resilient and efficient. Your role will be part of a cross-disciplinary feature team in addition to being a highly experienced member of our wider Lloyds engineering team delivering change.
Your role as a GCP Cloud SRE involves driving reliability and scalability by leveraging DevOps best practices, automating cloud infrastructure through IaC, and curating reusable GCP platform services for engineering teams. You'll learn new skills, technologies and approaches to software development as well as benefiting from a culture that celebrates diversity, equal opportunity.

Key responsibilities:
- Drive GCP Site Reliability Engineering practices to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of production systems.
- Own and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Terraform Cloud) for consistent, repeatable, and reliable infrastructure provisioning.
- Implement and operationalize SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, improving service reliability and reducing MTTD/MTTR through data-driven engineering.
- Build and maintain end-to-end observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, and GCP Monitoring across metrics, logs, and time-series data.
- Lead incident management, deep troubleshooting, and RCA, with strong expertise in GKE, Kubernetes internals, and containerized systems.
- Automate operational workflows and eliminate toil through Python scripting and orchestration, integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Enforce secure, compliant, and resilient cloud environments via policy-driven IaC, GCP Org Policies, and standardized infrastructure patterns.
- Strong understanding on one of more GCP Cloud areas to triage and resolve critical P1/P2 issues – Google Kubernetes Containers or Google Cloud Networking or Google Cloud Run Serverless
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Hands on Google SRE engineer in the past with strong understanding on SRE principles
- Terraform / Terraform Cloud (IaaC)
- Python Scripting.
- Harness, Jenkins, GitHub
- Google Kubernetes (GKE), Container, Istio Service Mesh
- GCP and Terraform Certified
- Good to have experience working in an IDE Platform for Cloud Engineering (e.g. Backstage)
