Site Reliability Engineer - AWS

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Remote (London)

Rate: £400 - £450 per day DOE

Status: OUTSIDE IR35

Clearance: Eligible for SC Clearance

Start Date: ASAP

Summary:

My market leading client are looking to secure the services of a SRE to assist with critical project work over the coming months, working in a heavily AWS orientated environment. Ideally coming from a consultancy background with strong GDS experience, consultants will need to be available to start within a few weeks.

Essential Skills

  • Strong AWS experience, including EC2, ECS, RDS, DocumentDB, CloudWatch and associated monitoring services
  • Experience building and maintaining observability solutions using tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Grafana or similar platforms
  • Proven experience monitoring, supporting and optimising live production services in a high-availability environment
  • Strong background in incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), troubleshooting and service restoration
  • Experience investigating and resolving application, infrastructure and performance-related issues in live environments
  • Ability to analyse logs, metrics and traces to proactively identify service degradation and reliability risks
  • Proven knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, C#, Python or JavaScript, with the ability to understand, troubleshoot and debug application code
  • Experience working with SLOs, SLIs, alerting strategies and reliability engineering best practices
  • Understanding of automation and operational tooling to improve service stability and reduce manual intervention
  • Client-facing experience, supporting issue investigation, stakeholder communication and incident resolution
