Site Reliability Engineer (Trade Support) – Front Office Trading Technology

London (5 days onsite)

International candidates welcome – Visa sponsorship & relocation support available

£150,000–£400,000 Total Compensation + Significant Upside

We're partnering with a leading global hedge fund to hire a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Trade Support) to support and enhance its Front Office trading platform across global OTC markets.

This is a Python-first SRE role combining software engineering, production support, and platform reliability. Working directly with Traders, Portfolio Managers, Quant Developers, and Engineers, you'll build Python automation and tooling, improve platform resilience, and support mission-critical trading systems in high-performance Linux environments.

This is not a traditional support role. The focus is on engineering solutions—automating manual processes, improving reliability, and continuously enhancing production systems rather than providing reactive support.

The Role

You'll join a Front Office Production Engineering team responsible for the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of business-critical trading platforms used by global trading desks.

The role combines:

  • Python Software Engineering
  • Site Reliability Engineering
  • Front Office Trade Support
  • Production Engineering
  • Automation & Tooling Development
  • Platform Reliability & Observability

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and developing Python applications, automation, and operational tooling to improve platform reliability and efficiency
  • Building scalable tooling that automates production support processes and eliminates manual operational tasks
  • Supporting and troubleshooting business-critical Front Office trading platforms operating in Linux production environments
  • Investigating complex production issues across distributed trading systems using Python, SQL, and system diagnostics
  • Developing monitoring, alerting, observability, and self-healing capabilities
  • Performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent engineering improvements
  • Working directly with Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Quant Developers to resolve real-time trading issues
  • Supporting production releases, deployments, and platform improvements
  • Driving engineering initiatives that improve reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across the trading platform

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
